Ready to Save Some Money on Diapers?

Miss Megan's Potty Training Boot Camp

Ready to kick that diaper habit cold turkey??  Give me three to five days with your kiddo at 8 hours a day and s/he will be the potty champ!  You are welcome to do this at home if you have 3-5 days to spend with some intense potty training attention.  Fees are $60/day ($180 up front, then per diem if needed).  Most kids don't need more than three days, but if you want that extra reinforcement, I will be happy to oblige.

Here is how it works:

Get rid of every last diaper in you house, car, diaper bag, grandma's, babysitter's, etc.

Have 20 (3-4 lg packs) pairs of undies on hand, as we will be using lots of trial and error.

Your kiddo will spend three days in his/her undies (and a shirt), with a diluted juice sippy in hand.

Every half hour will be potty time. S/he will sit on the potty for up to 5 minutes at a time, or until s/he pees.

When we have a successful potty time, s/he will wipe with toilet paper, and pull up undies. We will incorporate washing hands on the third day. Use hand sanitizer on days one and two. Then your kiddo gets a sticker to place on his/her potty paper.

If s/he doesn't pee or poop by the end of 5 minutes, we reiterate the importance of telling Miss Megan/Mommy/Daddy when s/he feels like s/he has to go, and pull up undies to go play.

There will be lots of accidents, hence the 20 pairs of undies. Hopefully, s/he will dislike the feeling of wet underwear.

DO NOT PUT YOUR KIDDO BACK IN DIAPERS! It takes lots of practice to get the timing down, so don't give them the chance to give up.

At night time, make sure s/he goes potty before bedtime. Wake up in the middle of the night to take another break, and first thing in the morning. Remember, I will be filling him/her FULL of fluids all day, so this is essential.

After Potty Training Boot Camp, take your little one to the potty at least once an hour until s/he gets the hang of telling you when s/he needs to go. Night times are up to you. You can sometimes avoid getting up in the middle of the night if you don't allow many fluids two hours before bed.

Every kid is different so the learning curve will vary, but the end results will be the same- no more diapers. Woohoo!
